Captain Slot is not a gambling operator. It does not accept bets, hold player funds or pay out winnings, and you cannot register or deposit here.

No data protection officer has been appointed. If one is, this section will name them and give a direct address.

2. What we collect

Things you give us. Only what you put in a message: your name if you sign it, the address you write from, and the contents. There is no account on this site, no newsletter signup and no payment, so there is nothing else you can hand over.

Things collected automatically. Your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request, when, and the page you came from. Some of that is in the web server's log by necessity; the rest depends on whether you consent to measurement.

Things stored in your browser and not sent anywhere. Two values: whether you have answered the age question, and whether you have switched casino offers off. They live in your browser's local storage, carry no identifier, and we never receive them.

Things from third parties. If measurement is switched on, aggregate statistics from the analytics platform. If you follow an affiliate link, the operator's network tells us a click was attributed to us. Neither tells us who you are, and we do not receive your account details, deposits or play from any operator.

3. Why, and on what legal basis

Each purpose has its own basis. Measurement and affiliate attribution rest on consent, not on legitimate interests: they are not necessary to show you a page, and treating them as if they were would be the wrong basis for them.

Purposes, data and legal basis
Purpose Data Legal basis
Serving the pages you request and keeping the site available and secure IP address, user agent, request time, page requested Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — running the site you asked for
Remembering your age answer and your "hide casino offers" preference Two values in your browser’s local storage, no identifier and nothing sent to us Strictly necessary — you asked for the setting, and it never leaves your device
Measuring how the site is used, so we know which pages are worth maintaining Pages viewed, referrer, approximate location, device type, a cookie identifier Consent (ePrivacy, and Art. 6(1)(a)). Nothing runs until you agree, and you can withdraw
Attributing a signup at an operator to a click from this site A click identifier passed to the operator or its affiliate network Consent. Refusing it does not change what you can read here
Answering a message you send us Whatever you put in the message, plus the address you sent it from Legitimate interests, or a legal obligation where the request is a rights request

4. Who receives it

Our hosting and content delivery provider, which processes requests to serve the site and keeps short-lived access logs.

An analytics provider, only with your consent. The provider is not finally chosen; this section will name it, and the cookies it sets will be listed individually in the cookie policy, before measurement is switched on for anyone.

The affiliate networks of the operators we cover, only when you follow an affiliate link, and only to the extent needed to attribute that click.

A consent management platform, which records the choice you made and when. Also not yet chosen.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anybody else's advertising.

5. Transfers outside the EEA

Some of the providers above are established outside the European Economic Area, in practice usually the United States. Where that is the case the transfer rests either on an adequacy decision of the European Commission covering the recipient, or on the standard contractual clauses together with the supplementary measures the transfer requires. Once the providers are named in section 4, this section will state which mechanism applies to which of them.

6. How long we keep it

Retention periods
What How long
Server access logs Up to 30 days, then deleted
Analytics data Up to 14 months, the shortest retention the platform offers
Messages you send us Up to 24 months, so we can trace a correction back to its report
Records of a consent you gave Up to 5 years, because we have to be able to show it
Rights requests and our answers Up to 3 years

These are periods, not a sentence saying that retention periods can vary. When something is past its period it is deleted, not archived.

7. Your rights

Your rights under the GDPR
Right What it gets you
Access A copy of what we hold about you, and why
Rectification Correction of anything inaccurate
Erasure Deletion, where we have no overriding obligation to keep it
Restriction We keep it but stop using it while something is disputed
Objection To processing we base on legitimate interests
Portability The data you gave us, in a machine-readable form
Withdrawal of consent At any time, and as easily as you gave it
Complaint To the supervisory authority of the country where we are established, or of your own

Exercising any of them is free and does not need a reason. Write through the contact page and we answer within one month, which is the statutory limit rather than a target. The supervisory authority to complain to depends on where the operating company is established, and it will be named here once it is.

8. Children

This site is for adults. De wettelijke minimumleeftijd voor gokken in Nederland is 18 jaar. We apply 18+ across the site. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone below the threshold, and if you believe a young person has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.

9. Cookies

A cookie is a small file a site asks your browser to keep, so that something can be remembered between page loads or between visits. Some are needed to serve a page at all; the rest are optional, and optional means off until you say otherwise. Nothing that is not strictly necessary is set before you agree to it, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the same place you gave it.

What this site sets today: nothing

As at 6 August 2026, Captain Slot sets no cookies. The pages are static files, there is no analytics tag, and no consent platform is installed.

Two things are remembered, and neither is a cookie. Whether you have answered the age question, and whether you have switched casino offers off, are stored by your browser in local storage on your own device. They carry no identifier, they are never sent to a server, and clearing your browser data removes them.

The three categories

Cookie categories, current state and what will be added
Category Consent Set today What will appear here
Strictly necessary No consent required None. The site is static and sets no cookie to serve you a page. The consent record itself, once a platform is installed: which choice you made and when.
Analytics Consent required, and off until you give it None. No analytics tag is installed. One provider, named here before it is switched on, with each cookie, its purpose and its lifetime listed individually.
Advertising and affiliate attribution Consent required, and off until you give it None set by us. Identifiers passed to an operator or its affiliate network when you follow a link to it. Cookies set on the operator’s own domain are theirs, and their policy governs them.

When a platform is installed, each cookie gets its own row: name, who sets it, category, what it does and how long it lasts. That table is filled in from the site as built, not from a vendor's example.

How the consent banner will behave

These are the rules the platform is chosen against, rather than something to check afterwards.

  • No script that is not strictly necessary runs before you have agreed to it.
  • Accept all and Reject all sit on the first layer, at the same size, the same weight, the same visual prominence and the same number of clicks.
  • Nothing is pre-ticked. A pre-ticked box is not consent.
  • Refusing does not break the site and does not hide content. There is no cookie wall.
  • Withdrawing is as easy as giving: a permanent link in the footer, from every page.
  • We do not ask again more often than once every six to twelve months, and closing the banner is not an answer either way.

What that rules out, in the words of the practices it rules out: a highlighted Accept next to a grey Manage preferences, a Reject hidden on the second layer, a banner closed with an × and read as agreement, and the sentence "by continuing to use this site you consent".

Changing or withdrawing your choice

Once the banner exists, a Cookie settings link in the footer will reopen it from any page, and changing your mind will take exactly as many clicks as making it up did. Until then there is no consent to withdraw, because nothing optional is running.

You can also clear or block cookies in your browser directly. Every major browser offers this in its privacy settings, per site and in general.

Cookies set by other people

When you follow a link to an operator, you are on their site, and any cookie set there is theirs under their policy. The same applies to any regulator, help organisation or reference site we link to. We cannot see, control or delete those.

What we get back from an affiliate network is an attribution — that a click came from this site — and no more. The commercial arrangement in full.

10. Affiliate tracking

When you follow a link to an operator, the address carries an identifier saying the visit came from us. The operator or its network sets its own cookie on its own domain — from that point you are on their site and their privacy policy applies, not ours.

What comes back to us is that a click, and possibly a registration, was attributed to this site. Not your name, not your account, not what you did there. The commercial arrangement in full.

11. Changes to this policy

When it changes materially we re-date it and describe what changed. Where the change affects something you consented to, we ask again — continuing to use the site is not an agreement to a new version, and this policy does not pretend otherwise.

12. Contact

Data questions and rights requests: [CONTACT EMAIL], or through the contact page. Captain Slot is not a gambling operator and holds no player accounts, so a question about your casino account has to go to the operator.
