How an Apple Pay Deposit Works at an Online Casino

Apple Pay lets you pay with a card already stored in Apple Wallet without typing a card number or completing a separate verification page. At the casino’s cashier, you select Apple Pay, confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode, and the payment goes through — the operator never sees your actual card number, only a device-specific token Apple generates for that one transaction. It works on an iPhone, iPad, Mac with Touch ID, or an Apple Watch paired to one of those, and nowhere else: Apple Pay is Apple’s own system, not a card network feature, so it has no equivalent on Android or Windows.

Because Apple Pay rides on a card you already added to Wallet — typically a Visa or Mastercard — it inherits that card’s own network rules rather than creating a separate one. What changes is the checkout experience, not the underlying rail: the money still moves through the same card network and the same bank authorisation your card would trigger directly, just with a biometric confirmation step replacing a typed card number and a 3-D Secure redirect.

Where This Fits Among the Five Brands We Cover

Captain Slot reviews five online casino brands for the Dutch market. Apple Pay is one of the few methods all five offer for Dutch deposits, with a condition at BinoBet and a lower cap at Mama. At every brand it only works one way: in, not out.

Which of Our Partners Actually Accept Apple Pay

All five do, for deposits. BinoBet ties it to the first deposit and to trusted status, and Mama sets a lower cap for it.

BrandApple Pay for Dutch deposits? What the brand lists
KokoBetYesApple Pay with Visa or Mastercard on every deposit; payouts to Visa, Mastercard, MiFinity, bank transfer or crypto
JustBitYesApple Pay and Google Pay; payouts to card, bank transfer or crypto
BetoryYesApple Pay with Visa or Mastercard on every deposit; payouts to card, bank transfer or crypto
BinoBetYes, with conditionsApple Pay on the first deposit and for players with trusted status; with a Visa card for trusted players only; payouts to card, bank transfer or crypto
MamaYesApple Pay and Google Pay with Visa or Mastercard on every deposit, up to €500 per deposit; payouts to card, bank transfer or crypto

The one pattern that holds across all five is that Apple Pay is a way in, not a way out. None of them lists it for withdrawals, so a payout goes back to a card, a bank account or a crypto wallet, whichever route the cashier offers.

Google Pay is not the same story. KokoBet, BinoBet, JustBit and Mama list it for Dutch deposits; Betory does not.

Apple Pay as a Payment Rail: What Checks Out and What Doesn’t

What checks out. A deposit at any of the five needs no new setup if you already use Apple Pay elsewhere — the card is already in Wallet, and confirming with Face ID or Touch ID is faster than typing a card number and waiting for a 3-D Secure prompt. It’s typically instant, and it exposes less to the casino than a raw card number would, since Apple’s tokenisation means the casino never sees the actual card behind the payment.

What doesn’t. Apple Pay only works on Apple hardware — an iPhone, iPad, Mac or paired Apple Watch — so it does nothing for a reader on Android or Windows, unlike a card number that works anywhere. None of the five publishes an Apple Pay-specific fee or a separate minimum deposit, it cannot receive a payout at any of them, and Mama caps it at €500 per deposit. And accepting Apple Pay changes nothing about licensing: none of the five holds a Ksa licence.

How Apple Pay Compares to the Other Methods at Our Five Partners

MethodSetup needed before depositingSpeedDevice required
Apple Pay (all five)Card already linked in Apple WalletInstantiPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch only
Visa / Mastercard (Betory: Mastercard only)None — use an existing cardInstant to a few minutesAny device with a browser
iDEAL (BinoBet, JustBit, Mama)A Dutch bank accountInstantAny device with your banking app
Crypto (all five)Hold or buy crypto firstMinutes, network-dependentAny device with a wallet

The trade-off is narrow but real: Apple Pay is the fastest checkout on this table for a reader who already has it set up, and the only one that locks a reader out entirely by device. A reader on Android loses only this row: cards, the Dutch banks and crypto work at all five, Google Pay at every brand except Betory, and iDEAL at BinoBet, JustBit and Mama.

How an Apple Pay Deposit and Withdrawal Work at Our Five Partners

A deposit follows Apple’s own checkout flow: select Apple Pay at the cashier, confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode, and the balance updates — typically within moments, since no separate bank redirect or 3-D Secure page is triggered the way a typed card number usually needs. The minimum deposit is €20 at all five, and none sets a different minimum for Apple Pay. Mama is the only one with its own Apple Pay cap, €500 per deposit.

Withdrawal does not run through Apple Pay at any of the five. Apple Pay is a checkout method for paying merchants, not a bank account in its own right, so the payout goes to a card, a bank transfer or crypto — and at KokoBet also MiFinity. Expect the usual identity checks (photo ID, sometimes proof of address) before a first payout clears. KokoBet and BinoBet hold a withdrawal for 48 hours for players below VIP level, JustBit holds non-crypto withdrawals for 48 hours, and Betory processes fiat withdrawals within 48 hours; Mama does not state a processing time. None of these windows has been timed by our team.

Apple Pay on Mobile

Apple Pay was built for mobile first — a phone or Apple Watch with Face ID or Touch ID is the natural way to use it, and the desktop version through a Mac’s Touch ID or a paired iPhone is closer to the exception than the rule. All five brands run in the mobile browser and as an installable web app (PWA) rather than as a store app, which fits how Apple Pay already expects to be used — inside a mobile browser, not a downloaded app. We have not yet run an Apple Pay deposit from a phone at any of the five ourselves.

Does Paying With Apple Pay Ever Unlock a Bigger Bonus?

Not at any of the five. None of their welcome packages carries a payment-method condition — the same terms apply whether a deposit arrives by Apple Pay, crypto or a card. This matches the general pattern across the industry: a payment method changes how money moves, not what a bonus is worth, unless an operator explicitly runs a payment-specific promotion, which none of the five currently advertises.

How to Recognise a Safe Apple Pay Checkout, Generally

The Apple Pay button should come from Apple’s own payment sheet, the familiar black button and system-level prompt for Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode — not a page mimicking that look with its own card-entry form. A site that asks you to type a card number after tapping something labelled “Apple Pay” is not running a genuine Apple Pay transaction.

Apple Pay accepting a merchant is not the same signal as a licence. Apple runs its own merchant-risk checks, separate from gambling regulation — Apple Pay support at any of the five does not change the fact that none of them holds a Ksa licence; that is checked and stated separately on each brand’s own review.

Device-level security is your own layer of protection. Because Apple Pay requires Face ID, Touch ID or a passcode for every transaction, keeping those device protections enabled is the single most useful control a reader has, independent of which merchant is being paid.

If a payment fails silently, check with your card issuer before retrying repeatedly. A declined Apple Pay transaction is usually the same gambling-transaction filter that would block the underlying card directly, sitting with your bank or card issuer, not with the casino’s payment security.

Fees

None of the five publishes an Apple Pay-specific fee. Each states a minimum deposit of €20 for the account as a whole, not a number broken out by payment method. Apple itself does not charge the person paying for using Apple Pay; any fee that applies would come from the underlying card issuer’s own foreign-transaction or cash-advance policy for a gambling merchant category, which sits between the reader and their bank, not between the reader and the casino. Checking directly with your card issuer is the only way to confirm whether that applies before depositing a large amount.

Veelgestelde vragen

Which of the five casinos you review accepts Apple Pay?

All five, for deposits from the Netherlands. KokoBet, JustBit, Betory and Mama list it for every deposit. BinoBet lists it for the first deposit and for players with trusted status, and with a Visa card only for trusted players. At all five it is a deposit method only: withdrawals go to a card, a bank transfer or crypto.

Are there limits on Apple Pay deposits at these casinos?

Mama is the one brand that sets its own: €500 per Apple Pay or Google Pay deposit, against €1,000 for a card and a usual €5,000 for the account. The other four state no separate Apple Pay cap. The minimum deposit is €20 at all five, whatever the method.

Do I need an iPhone to use Apple Pay at these casinos?

Apple Pay works on an iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch with a card already added to Apple Wallet — it is not available on Android or Windows devices under any circumstances, since it is Apple's own payment system rather than a card network. A reader on a non-Apple device would use a card, a Dutch bank or crypto instead, and at BinoBet, JustBit and Mama also iDEAL.

Is an Apple Pay deposit any different from paying with the card behind it?

The mechanics differ even though the underlying card is the same one. Apple Pay tokenises the transaction — the casino receives a device-specific token, not your actual card number — and authorisation happens through Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode rather than typing a card number and completing 3-D Secure in a browser.

What if Apple Pay doesn't work for me at one of these casinos?

Every brand offers alternatives for Dutch deposits. Cards (Mastercard only at Betory), the Dutch banks (Rabobank, ING, ABN AMRO), N26, Revolut and crypto are listed at all five; iDEAL at BinoBet, JustBit and Mama; Google Pay at every brand except Betory.
