1. What this site is

Captain Slot publishes information about online casinos: reviews, bonus terms, payment conditions, public reviews and complaint records, and warnings published by regulators and industry bodies. Using the site means you accept these terms.

Captain Slot is not a gambling operator. It does not accept bets, hold player funds, run games or pay out winnings, and there is no account to open here. Every gambling transaction you enter into happens with an operator, under that operator's terms, and we are not a party to it.

2. Age and responsible gambling

The legal gambling age is 18 in the Netherlands, France, Germany, Spain and Italy, and 21 in Greece. We apply the 21+ threshold across the site. Do not use it if you are below the legal age where you are.

3. Not advice

The content of this site is information, not legal, financial or tax advice, and it is not a recommendation to gamble. Whether gambling is lawful where you live, and whether a particular operator may lawfully accept you, is a question for the regulator of your own country — our guide to the six registers tells you where to look, and it is a starting point rather than an answer.

4. Accuracy and change

We check what we publish and date it. Bonus terms, payment limits, licence status and ownership all change, sometimes without notice, and a page is accurate as at the date shown on it and not afterwards. Before you act on a figure here, read it in the operator's own current terms.

Our method, including how a rating is derived and how often it is re-checked, is published at how we rate. A rating is an editorial opinion based on stated criteria; it is not a guarantee of anything, least of all of being paid.

5. Our commercial relationship with operators

This site is funded by commission from the operators it covers. That decides which operators appear here and influences the order they appear in; it does not decide a safety tier, an experience score, or whether a regulator warning is published.

6. Operator terms take precedence

Where anything on this site conflicts with an operator's own terms and conditions, the operator's terms govern your relationship with that operator. We describe those terms; we do not set them and cannot alter them.

7. External links

This site links to regulators, help organisations, complaint bodies and operators. We do not control any of those sites and are not responsible for their content, their availability or their handling of your data. A link is not an endorsement, and on our safer gambling pages there are no operator links at all.

8. Our material, and quoting it

The text, tables, ratings and page structure on this site are ours, and copying a page wholesale is not permitted. Quoting is: take what you need, keep it recognisable as a quotation, and credit Captain Slot with a link to the page you took it from. Our regulator reference exists to be cited, and citing it properly is the point.

Operator names and logos belong to their owners and appear here for identification.

9. Liability

We take care over what we publish and we correct errors when we find them or when they are reported. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from a decision you took on the basis of information here — including gambling losses, which follow from the game rather than from a review of it.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Complaints and corrections

If something here is wrong, tell us: quote the sentence and link the source that contradicts it, through the contact page. Readers are answered within two working days, operators within five. A correction that moves a rating is recorded in the change log with its date.

We are not a dispute body. A complaint about an operator goes to the operator first and then to the regulator or dispute service of your country; the routes are named on each of our six country pages.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, the date at the foot of this page changes and, where the change is material, we say what changed. Continuing to use the site is not by itself an acceptance of a new version.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

Open item. Governing law and the competent court follow from the country in which the operating company is established, and no company is named yet. This clause will state both once it is, and consumer protection in your own country of residence applies regardless of what it says.
